Art, Drinks, and DJ Sets: Signal Space Celebrates One Year and Launches a New Program

It started with an exhibition. Then came NobodyListen, yoga surrounded by projections, and two international awards. With its first year behind it, Signal Space is heading into a new season full of reasons to return.

During its first year, the gallery pulsed with DJ sets, hosted yoga sessions, and invited visitors to experiment with light. Each event revealed a different way to experience the same space. Now, these experiences are becoming a regular part of the program.

From Festival Nights to a Permanent Home

In October 2025, the digital art associated with Signal Festival found a year-round home. The historic Old Town Market Hall on Rytířská Street came alive with light, sound, and projections. There’s now no need to wait for a few fall evenings to experience art that surrounds you. At Signal Space, you can experience Signal Festival 365 days a year.

The opening exhibition, Echoes of Tomorrow, marked the beginning of this new chapter. Playmodes, Shohei Fujimoto, Quayola, Ondřej Zunka, Zach Lieberman, and other artists offered different perspectives on how technology changes our perception. Their works respond to algorithms, data, and visitors’ presence. Simply shift your position or wait a moment, and the image before you may take on a different form.

The gallery has already earned international recognition. This February, it received an Inavation Award, followed in June by Canada’s PRIX NUMIX 2026 in the Arts & Experience category. Both awards arrived before Signal Space’s first birthday.

Mirrors, Beats, and Sunday Mornings

Some experiences began right in the foyer. Reflexion, by Adam Cigler and Petr Vacek, transformed visitors’ reflections into a living mosaic of 91 moving mirrors. Images fragmented, multiplied, and came together again. Every step created a different portrait.

The first Signal Sounds event with NobodyListen picked up the pace. His set was accompanied by visuals created specifically for the immersive room, surrounding the audience with music and imagery.

Then there were mornings when yoga mats were rolled out in that same space. Signal Movement brought together Pilates, yoga, and 360° projections, offering another way to experience digital art: through movement, with attention turned toward your own body.

One place, experienced in a completely different way each time.

A Packed Program for Year Two

Digital art should be more than an exhibition. It should give people a reason to come together. That’s why Signal Space is expanding its program beyond the traditional gallery model.

“We want Signal Space to become a natural part of Prague’s cultural life. Alongside our exhibitions, we’re developing a regular program that gives visitors the chance to meet artists, try creating something themselves, or come along for an evening of music,” says Petr Suchánek, Chief Operating Officer of Signal Space.

Each month will bring new editions of Signal Talks, Signal Lab, and Signal Sounds.

At Talks, artists will take you behind the scenes of their creative process, from the first idea to the technical challenges along the way. If that inspires you to try something yourself, Labs will offer workshops for adults and children alike.

Selected evenings will feature Signal Sounds, pairing musicians with digital visuals. Signal Lates will bring a more relaxed rhythm to Thursdays: stop by after work for a guided exhibition tour, a drink, and a DJ set, then stay until midnight.
