ART*VR, the largest virtual and augmented reality film festival in Central and Eastern Europe, joins forces with Signal Space for the first time. During festival week, the Black Box becomes a pop-up gallery featuring Untamed Worlds. The four projects build on the Echoes of Tomorrow exhibition, moving between the present and the future, certainty and uncertainty, and the human and nonhuman worlds.
In the interactive installation Imaginary Atlas: Amazonia, you’ll put a woven object on your head and set a giant snake dancing with every movement. It’s a playful vision of a future where nature and technology aren’t at odds.
→Permeable Becoming by Patrícia Chamrazová, meanwhile, takes you through geological, biological, and temporal layers to the origins of life on Earth, asking whether we can ever understand nonhuman forms of existence.
→yportnE, a title that reverses the word entropy, explores a world of nature, society, and time, where order is constantly colliding with chaos.
→Finally, Dream Library brings together dreams from different eras—from a Siberian farmer to a Berlin schoolgirl in the 1930s—and weaves them into monumental dream temples.
Come explore a world that can never be fully tamed—and is always one step ahead of our attempts to understand it. The main festival program, themed Circles of Intimacy, takes place at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art. Fulldome films will be screened at the Prague Planetarium.
