Held from October 15 to 18, Signal Festival presented 21 light and audiovisual installations by Czech and international artists. For the first time, one of the festival routes took visitors to Dejvice. Highlights of this year’s lineup included American artist Jim Campbell, Austrian artist Kurt Hentschläger, and Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang.

Projection mapping on the Old Town Hall tower and the Archbishop’s Seminary in Dejvice also drew crowds. The program featured the international Signal Forum conference and eight installations in the ticketed Signal INSIDE section.

“We’re delighted that Signal Festival continues to attract so many people year after year. We’re truly grateful for their enthusiasm and the public’s support. We’re also thrilled with how visitors responded to the new route in Dejvice. Each year, we set out to discover more places across Prague and bring art to spaces where people wouldn’t normally encounter it. At the same time, we want to keep raising the bar for our program and introduce Czech audiences to leading figures in digital art from around the world. This year’s festival reaffirmed why that work matters. And if you’d like to keep exploring contemporary art and technology now that the festival is over, I warmly invite you to Signal Space, where you can experience both all year round,” says Martin Pošta, Director of Signal Festival.

This year’s program explored the theme Dream On! Dreams and Visions. Thirteen installations were free to visit, with another eight accessible through Signal INSIDE. Highlights included Scattered Light by American artist Jim Campbell, To the Moon by Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang, and Water, a production by Laterna magika. Ukrainian artist Svitlana Reinish’s projection mapping work Living in Truth on the Old Town Hall tower honored the ideas and legacy of Václav Havel. At the Archbishop’s Seminary, a new festival location in Dejvice, German artist Felix Frank transformed the building with his projection mapping work Missing Interval.

On Friday, October 16, the National Library of Technology also hosted the third edition of the international Signal Forum conference. The program included Dare to Dream, a panel discussion exploring freedom, civil society, and Václav Havel’s legacy. Speakers included Ester Valtrová from Díky, že můžem, artist Svitlana Reinish, and Pavel Kopřiva from the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University.

Signal Festival thanks the City of Prague and the Czech Ministry of Culture for their long-standing support, which makes it possible to bring contemporary digital art into public spaces each year.

Mercedes-Benz was the main partner of the festival’s 14th edition. In collaboration with designer Maxim Velčovský, the company presented the installation Letem světlem by Mercedes-Benz in the courtyard of Clam-Gallas Palace. Official partners were Pražská plynárenská and Red Bull. Signal Festival also received support from glo™, Ferrero, Pražská teplárenská by Veolia, Palladium Praha, Václav Havel Airport Prague, PERI, and Zlati Grič.

Support from the PPF Foundation once again enabled the festival to present leading international artists and develop international collaborations.

Special thanks also go to this year’s institutional partners: the municipal districts of Prague 1 and Prague 6, Technologie hlavního města Prahy, the Czech Technical University in Prague, the National Theatre, Prague City Tourism, Díky, že můžem, and 0xCollection. For their support of the international program, the festival thanks Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council, the French Institute in Prague, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Embassy of Switzerland.

The festival’s technology partner was Panasonic MEVIX, its hotel partners were Czech Inn Hotels and Fairmont Golden Prague, and its recycling partner was EKO-KOM. Signal Festival is also part of Co-Vision, an international project co-funded by the European Union.

The 15th edition of Signal Festival will take place from October 14 to 17, 2027. In the meantime, visitors can explore digital art at Signal Space, a year-round gallery featuring eight distinct exhibition experiences that bring together contemporary art and technology. On October 29, the gallery will launch Signal Lates, a new event series combining digital art, DJ sets, and drinks until midnight. From November 3 to 10, the gallery will also take part in AI Days, the largest artificial intelligence festival in Czechia.
